Overview

Axiom Capital management, Inc. and Scott Livingston invite you to join America’s investment and corporate leaders to discuss nanotechnology over the next year and beyond.

This year’s conference will bring together blue chip corporations, promising startups and leading investors to discuss investment and business trends in nanotechnology. Attendees can expect to make valuable business connections by talking directly with the key leaders in each field and learn how nanotechnology may have a disruptive impact on many industries including infrastructure, cleantech, consumer electronics, healthcare, energy and real estate.

This year we have organized our keynotes and panels to explore the question "NOW WHAT?"

With so many changes over the last year the outlook, strategies and priorities are much different than since we last convened. Indeed, many companies, investors and other leaders are struggling to figure out strategies on a day to day basis. I hope that we can share ideas, strategies and best practices and come out of the event with a renewed sense of purpose and spirit to lead America to a sustained recovery based on innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and growth.

The "Now What?" topics for our roundtable will include:

  • Oil prices have taken a full trip from $60 to $140 and back - now what?
  • There is a new administration in Washington - now what?
  • The stock market has plummeted and investors are more risk averse than ever - now what?
  • Major investment banks, hedge funds and private equity firms are going belly up - now what?
  • Advances in nanotechnology have driven performance in cleantech, green business, life science, electronics and more - now what?
Monday Dec 8 will be focused on panels and roundtables, and Tue, Dec 9 will be more content and also will feature a group going out to the Brookhaven Labs in Long Island to tour their Center for Functional Nanomaterials and also the Realistic Heavy Ion Collider.

Panels have been organized to address key challenges. Attendees will learn how nanotechnology based products are continuing to solve key issues confronting business and individuals in their daily lives. Panel topics include:

  • Repairing and Rebuilding our Infrastructure - The need to upgrade bridges, roads and tunnels, the need for society to embrace energy efficiency, the need to insure that all airports, seaports and borders are secure, and the use of nanotechnology in cement, steel, windows, and construction materials to make them stronger, cheaper and cleaner.
  • Protecting Imports and Fighting Counterfeits - The foreign made products being recalled regularly due to safety concerns. Counterfeit products crossing the borders daily, affecting drugs, intellectual property and even money supply.
  • Addressing and Mitigating Environmental Damag (Cleantech) - How green manufacturing, solar and alternative energies, environmental remediation and other applications are being enabled by rapid advances at the nanoscale. How nanotechnology is assisting the ‘green revolution’.
  • Personalized Medicine - How nanotechnology is used to detect, treat and diagnose diseases and ailments earlier and more effectively such as RNA interference, tissue engineering, drug delivery and other parts of the healthcare field.
  • Defense/Homeland Security - How aerospace and defense companies have been actively working in nanotechnology for years, and the development of products for homeland security, mobile soldiers, space exploration, including lighter and more fuel efficient transportation.
There will be breakout sessions for investors to meet CEOs and senior executives from public and private companies to learn more about them and their businesses.

Attendees can meet and interact with decision makers from America’s largest companies, CEOs of leading public and private growth companies, portfolio managers and analysts from top public and private investment institutions, and other key decision makers and influential members of the nanotechnology community.
